Commercial Restaurant - Bosch Tankless Case Study
Founded in 1984, Poquito Mas Baja Taco Stand restaurants have become a staple of California cuisine – catering to a legion of followers and Hollywood celebrities. With 11 locations throughout the Los Angeles area, the restaurant chain consumes large quantities of hot water for both food preparation, cleaning and general usage. In an effort to better meet demand, streamline costs and free up valuable kitchen space, Poquito Mas turned to Bosch Thermotechnology and its line of commercial grade tankless water heaters for its Chatsworth, CA location.
Benefits and Conclusion
Wall mountable, Bosch tankless units free valuable floor space while delivering hot water to the staff and customers. One condensing Bosch unit, in this installation the C 1210 ESC, supplies 450 gallons of on-demand hot water per day. Condensing technology, an innovation first pioneered by Bosch, captures exhaust gases and uses it to pre-heat the water and ensures the unit operates at optimal efficiency, 98 percent for the C 1210 ESC. Poquito Mas has seen a 15 percent energy savings compared to their previous hot water solution – thanks mainly to the condensing technology found in the Bosch unit. With these savings, Poquito Mas estimates pay back in just three years.
