Solar Hydronic Heating Systems
Once the DHW tank is at capacity, surplus solar heat is available to boost the return water temperature of the heating system and significantly reduce fuel consumption during the spring and fall seasons. Best results are achieved in low temperature heating systems with radiant floors and panel radiators. Properly sizing a system based on consumption and heat loss is important, with a typical application using four to ten panels and 200 to 500 gallon tanks.
