Solar Cooling Vessel
Pre-cooling vessel is used to pre-cool the solar fluid. The Bosch solar heat transfer fluid is specifically engineered for the Bosch Solar Thermal Systems. It is a ready-made mixture, consisting of 50% Polypropylene glycol and 50% water, which is food compatible and biologically degradable. The heat transfer fluid is specifically designed to protect the system components from frost and corrosion. It has a broad operational range from -35°F to 338°F(–37 °C to 170 °C).

The pre-cooling vessel is to pre-cool the solar fluid so that the DEV (Diaphragm Expansion Vessel) is not exposed to excessively high temperatures. The DEV should be installed below the pre-
cooling vessel. If this is not possible, and the pipe is required to be sloped upwards, an additional air vent must be built in.
