Expansion Tank
Bosch Solar Expansion Tanks
The Bosch expansion tank is a safety device that captures the expansion and condensation of the solar heat transfer fluid during changing climatic conditions, also known as “stagnation”, ensuring that the maximum operating pressure is never reached. The entire volume of the solar system is contained in the expansion tank. The size of the expansion tank depends on the system pressure, collector area, system volume and static height of the system.

A properly designed system will compensate volume changes in the solar system and diminish the need to have a safety valve open. The diaphragm expansion vessel is designed to meet solar thermal system requirements, resistant to high-temperatures and degradation/deterioration from solar glycol solution/fluid.
